Quick Facts
What is Gonadorelin?
Gonadorelin is a synthetic version of the naturally occurring gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). This decapeptide is released from the hypothalamus in pulses, triggering the pituitary to release LH and FSH. In clinical practice, it's used for fertility treatment, diagnostic testing, and increasingly to maintain testicular function during testosterone replacement therapy.
How Does Gonadorelin Work?
Gonadorelin binds to GnRH receptors on the anterior pituitary, stimulating release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). Pulsatile administration mimics natural release patterns and maintains normal reproductive axis function. Continuous administration, paradoxically, downregulates the system (used in prostate cancer treatment).
Research-Backed Benefits
